So I joined Inside Curve, the new plus size social community from Lane Bryant. I am not so sure what all the fuss is about. I didn't really get it (and yes I am on Facebook so I am familiar with social networking). I am not sure if it's because it is like a really light version of Facebook and it needs time to evolve but I didn't see the benefit to me other then the $'s off coupon code I got after joining.
And I also didn't understand why when joining you had to select a State for your address. Lane Bryant sells to Canada so why isn't there any Provinces to choose from?
From a business perspective, I do see the benefit to Lane Bryant as a company; market research group and targeted marketing all wrapped up in one pretty little package.
What am I missing? If you are a member please tell me why you enjoy it and what the benefit to you as a plus size women is?
So I don't like to slag a company without giving them their props so I did want to showcase a couple of their new arrivals I thought were nice:
1: Lace sublimation tank $49.50US from Lane Bryant
2: Denim trouser $59.50US from Lane Bryant
3: Harara 2 $20US from Etsy
4: Handmade Purple Messenger Bag $39US from Etsy
I tried to sign up for the Lane Bryant Inside Curve and got an error message. When I emailed them about it they said they would look into it and get back to me. I waited a couple of days and inquired again. They told me to be patient. That was 3-4 weeks ago. I got a newsletter from them yesterday with no way to unsubscribe so I marked it SPAM. Do they have some evolving to do? You betcha!
